WAY BETTER ON THE MARKET. NOT EVEN A BEGGINER GUITAR This guitar is not very good. I went and bought one off ebay after I looked at this one, and this is not originally a 300 dollar guitar. On ebay u can get a great beginner guitar for 30 bucks, pick, metal strings, gig bag, strap, etc. way better deal. Search fretshop on ebay. that is the seller and they r amazing.

A guitar is a stringed instrument that produces sounds through the string’s vibration resonating within the guitar’s body.

Guitars can be classified into 3 kinds: the classical guitar, the acoustic guitar and finally the electric guitar.

The classical guitar (also referred to as the Spanish guitar) is the most common between the three kinds of guitar. This kind of guitar has a hollow body with a hole that acts as a resonator of the sound produced by plucking and strumming the strings. It normally has six strings made of nylon. These nylon strings have less tension when compared to steel strings thus making this kind of guitar easy to pluck or strum. It is assumed that it is to be played only with a person’s fingers and not with a pick. It is also normally used without amplifiers but classical guitar owners can equip one or just play the guitar in front of a microphone. This kind of guitar is used mainly for classical, Latin and Flamenco music.

The acoustic guitar looks like a classical guitar in terms of shape and appearance. Like a classical guitar, an acoustic one does not normally use amplifiers. Their similarities stop there, though, as an acoustic guitar uses steel strings to produce a louder and brighter sound. Heavier woods (such as spruce, maple and mahogany) are used for the body and neck of the guitar. This is to withstand the tension brought on by the steel strings. The electric guitar uses electronic pickups to convert the sound of vibrating the strings into electric current. Has a nice feel to it and nice sound; recommended This contents of this review are based on that fact that this keyboard costs under $200. Just knowing that it costs under $200 should tell you right off the bat this is not for a professional musician, nor will it have professional quality and tone. However, if you are like me and just beginning or even perhaps an intermediate musician looking for a practice keyboard, this is probably the keyboard you want to buy. I tried out many many keyboard in the $200 price range and this is the ONLY one I would buy. If it were not for this keyboard, I would have spent over $500 on a Yamaha. What I like about this is the keyboard has a semi-weighted feel to the keys and the piano tones are very lush and nice. The organ tones as well are awesome. After using it for a few months the keys are starting to 'crackle' a little and realistically this keyboard could probably only stand about 3-4 years of use before it breaks down. I have no regrets at all about purchasing this. If I continue to play and enjoy playing, I will probably go out and buy a $700 range professional digital piano or keyboard down the road and sell this one or give it away. Also, you do need to purchase an a/c power supply (so add another $20) and probably a simple stand ($25). So make sure you factor in another $45 for accessories. If you are the type of person who likes to buy once and have a product for life, this may not be what you are looking for. I would recommend a higher quality instrument. If you just want to start playing right away and don't have a big budget, this is the ONE keyboard to get. Quite frankly, almost any keyboard under $200 is a piece of junk!
GREAT DEAL For the money, this keyboard can't be beat! I had wanted to purchase an 88 key digital piano but the prices were a bit too steep for me at this time, so I took a chance on this low-cost Casio keyboard. I was pleasantly surprised! It has good sound, decent touch (not exactly like a piano but much better than models without touch sensitivity!!), and is lightweight. Make sure you get the adaptor and stand (and a sustain pedal too!). You will need them. For the price---it's a great deal!
ideal to learn on My last keyboard didn't really sound much like a piano, nor did it have enough keys (61). This really fits the bill and holds my attention. Really interested in getting back into playing and as I grew up with a piano I wanted something pretty similar. This is gorgeous sounding (esp. with headphones), a nice feel and an amazing list of fantastic sounds to boot. The 76 keys handles nearly any piano music and this baby performs nicely for the price. Yeah, it does not exactly feel like a piano but you aren't gonna toss a piano on your lap either. No buyers remorse here but a few caveats. You have to buy this with the power supply and pedal to really use it properly (assuming you have the stand and chair). Those extras don't come standard and you will need them. The pedal I used to use with my Yamaha works in reverse for this unit and other 9v power supplies don't have the guts to power it so beware...get the recommended accessories.

Tascam MPGT1 This is a great new product, it's very easy to use, either using the quick reference guide, or delving into the digital manual, the contents take you straight to where you want to be and the instructions are easy to follow. I'm a drummer, not a guitarist, so I won't use this for it's full potential, but all I wanted to do was slow the tracks down to figure out what's being played, and this works great! You can even loop sections to play over and over again, making it easy to practice the parts you need to learn. And unlike most MP3 players, the volume goes a little louder so you can hear the music while you play.
Tascam MP-GT1 Guitar trainer Great product would highly recommend it. I use it alot for practice when I don't want to use an amp has a lot of effecrs which are nice. It is great for learning lead riffs. I really enjoy owning the MP-GT1 and would buy another one if anything happened to mine. Last thing I would recomend is buying the charger also it will charge on the computer but it takes about six hours. Hope this review helps you in your decision.

Long Lasting This is a pretty decent guitar under $100. I got it for chistmas almost 3 years ago and its still in one piece. I've never had any problems with it in the past and it still works well now. Although it is a decent guitar i would only recomend it for practice. Save your money, get a real instrument This is actually NOT a Washburn, it's a "LYON by Washburn". I bought mine for $88, how could I go wrong? Let me count the ways. 1. It appears that there are minor flaws in every piece of this guitar. It's my theory that Washburn sends all their material defects to the Lyon factory in China. Well, maybe not, but it's this type of product association that can ruin a company's brand. 2. I've tweaked every aspect of this guitar...Replaced the pickups with fat-strats. Dressed the frets. Locked down the cheesy trem. Re-soldered all pots and connectors. All these were necessary, and they all had a positive effect but... 3. I'm not sure what wood they used, but it's very lightweight. There is no mass density to this instrument, therefore no sustain. This was a good project guitar to figure out how to modify them and work on them. You know, take it apart, put it back together. But as a gigging instrument, it will never, ever do. Unless you're a guitar-smashing thrash metal wannabe. If you want something cheap for your non-musician kid as a birthday or Christmas present to see if they have any aptitude or desire, then perhaps it's good for that. If they do like it, they'll be asking for a real guitar within a year.
Big Bang for the Buck My mom and I were shopping in Target a couple of months ago and saw that this was on sale for 99 bucks. I looked at it and it promised that there was a lot of accessories included so that you could get started right out of the box. My mom had wanted me to take up an instrument anyway, so she bought it. I've had a great time with it since then. It comes with a demo DVD, an amp, strings, picks, carrying bag, everything (just make sure to look for the stuff in the bag itself--I didn't and returned it, thinking that some of the stuff hadn't come with it. The lady at the counter showed me and I was embarassed) you need. It sounds good; the amp is surprisingly loud. All I needed was a distortion pedal and some chord charts and some free lessons downloaded on the Internet and I was set. I haven't had a bit of trouble since I got it.

Kids love this thing! Give this to a kid 3 years or older, put on the earphones, show how to turn the knob to get different sounds and the kid will be occupied for quite some time. Quality travel guitar at a great price... I did a lot of research for a travel friendly electric guitar and this one came out on top for me. Price wasn't nearly as big a factor for me as small size, good quality, comfortable feel, and a FULL SIZED fret board. At 28" the Speedster is small enough to use in a tight space and you don't have to get used to a scaled down fret board like some of the competitors like the PalmGuitar and Lapstick, both of which are also much more expensive. As much as I like the Steinberger as a travel friendly alternative, the Speedster is 2" shorter, and less expensive. One thing that is nice about the cost is you won't feel bad if it gets knocked around in the overhead bin or in the back of your car. The removable arm looks cool but I don't find it's necessary when using a strap. I leave it at home and use the extra space in the gig bag for my headphone amp, capo, cable, and extra strings. It should be noted that you won't be able to install a pair of strap locks so I highly recommend a self-locking guitar strap. I really like the Planet Lock Strap made by Planet Waves. For the headphone amp I bought the iGTR and really like it. Great effects, allows for mp3 player and headphone connection, and I can even connect to my iPod speaker for use as an amplifier! Hello Kitty's the Sabre-Toothed Tiger of Tone! OK, everybody, I'm a male. I'm older than 16. I play blues and heavy rock. I've played in front of thousands of people. I already own a wonderful, expensive Standard Stratocaster that I am very happy with. I didn't need another guitar---and I really didn't have the money to buy another one, either. Yet, even with all that..... I recently bought this Hello Kitty Stratocaster! Why, you may ask? Well, lemme tell ya... I was in a guitar shop in Northampton, MA (don't ask why I was in Northampton, MA of all places!) I saw this ridiculous-looking, over the top bubble gum pink Stratocaster with a single humbucker pickup and Hello Kitty pickguard on it. I picked it up, just to be ironic (and because I was with a lady friend of mine--you know how that is!) Imagine my surprise when it fit my hand just PERFECTLY! The neck was smaller than a standard Strat, but it was not a short-length guitar. 21 frets. Like most mortals, my hands aren't the size of Jimi Hendrix or Stevie Ray Vaughan's--- but they almost felt that way on this neck. I could pull off tricks on this guitar I couldn't on my Standard Strat. Surprised by the size and comfort of the neck, I plugged the thing into a Marshall half stack, just for the hell of it... and imagine my EVEN GREATER SURPRISE when the thing sounded just SPECTACULAR!!! Holy cow! The sound was ROUGH and MEAN and just KILLER! On top of this, the sustain on the thing was utterly beyond belief. When I plugged it into my cheap 100 buck Fender practice amp, I was able to sustain a single note for well over two minutes! (It would have kept going, too, if I hadn't gotten bored.) Whoa. I ended up buying the guitar because the neck fits my hand just perfectly, but also because it has the most ridiculous sustain on it (even better than my more expensive Strat,) and because the sounds that come out of it are, quite simply, RUDE! "Iron Man" and "Black Dog" never sounded so good! It's just an added bonus that playing Black Sabbath and Zeppelin on a guitar with this color scheme screams "irony"!!!! I think the target audience is teenage girls, but the owner of the shop I bought it at told me that he has sold more of these to men than to women. Make of that what you will. Yes, it only has one pickup. Yes, the pickup is a humbucker. Yes, that means you won't get the crystal clear single-coil-pickup Fender sound on this guitar. BUT, the neck is extremely comfortable for those with smaller hands, the paintjob can't be beat, and for heavier stuff the tone that comes out of this reasonably-priced monster is better than many thousand dollar guitars I have played. Un-freakin-believable. I love me my Kitty. Get yourself one before they're gone like the Sabre-Toothed Tiger!

Distorts sound, just like it says I have had this pedal for about 15 years, just replaced the old one a month ago. It distorts sound, not quite the way you would imagine though. This effect sounds really good through a fat cab or a larger amp that can let the cabinet give the tone a little color. I use it through a Epiphone Valve Jr and a Marshall 2x12 stack with JTM45 on top and its fine. This thing through a Champ or smaller amp will not give you the meat you are probably looking for without a EQ pedal. This does just what it says it does. One Volume knob, one tone, and one distortion knob. CRANK IT.

Great guitar, Guitar Center sucks I love the guitar, but Guitar Center is about as clueless a company to deal with as I have ever encountered. 1 - I paid for the guitar online with my credit card. The amount was $139. When I got my credit card statement the bill was for $151. Upon investigation I discovered that the extra $12 was for sales tax. That amount should have shown up the invoice I got online BEFORE I authorized the charge. 2 - So I wrote to Guitar Center and complained about the charge and they totally ignored my letter. 3 - Shipped with the guitar was a flyer for 123Music that offered the same guitar for $40 cheaper than I paid for it and free shipping and no tax. I could have bought it from them for $51 less than I paid Guitar Center. 4 - Then Guitar Center sends me spam, advertising the totally worthless extended warranty. I didn't sign up for spam. Four strikes and Guitar Center is out. I will never buy from them again.

Very Cheap Quality I ordered this for my daughter's 4th birthday. For 19.99 I was not expecting anything too spectacular. However, this reminds me of something you'd get in Mexico in one of those tourist souvenir shops for $5-10. good product, but shipped poorly! the lauren guitars are knowed to be really good, and that's why i bought this one. i thought i was getting a good deal online, since my local store had a lauren guitar (a solid, natural color one) for the same price, but it didnt come with a gig bag. Well, when i got it, it wasnt wraped or boxed well at all.. no pading or anything! i took a peek to makesure nothing was damaged, and it loked o.k. so i left it in the box till xmas (for about three weeks). well, apperently it was damaged! the inside of the bridge (forgot what its called) was damaged, and my local music shop said it would cost more to fix, than to buy a new one! that just pist me off! i didnt know i was supposed to fill out a warrenty card with in a few days of purchase, either.. so now its not covered under warrenty! everytime it plays, it has a bussing sound comeing from the G string, thanks to the part that's broken! i recomend buying it at a local music shop, and not risk the poor shipping! plus, if u buy it at a music shop, they usually warenty their merchandise! good luck!

Great Travel Guitar Like other reviewers, I found that the tone of this little Rover leaves a little to be desired but at the end of the day that's not the primary reason I was looking for one. That said, it doesn't sound that bad. What you should expect: - Thin tone but what's to be expected from the small body - Stays in tune despite moving it around from place to place, which is testimony to its stability - Balance has been mentioned by other reviewers. If you rest this guitar on your left leg (if you're a right hander) in the classical guitar style, the balance is better - The action stinks out of the box. If you work on your own gear, this isn't a problem to resolve. Otherwise take it directly to your local guitar person and have the bridge worked on or else you'll be fighting with fretting the strings. This is a very enjoyable travel companion once you get the setup the way you like it and accept that it's never going to sound like a dreadnought.

Cool neck but smelly body The neck on this guitar is extremely playable. I love its feel and good action more than my Guild or Martin dreadnaught-sized acoustic guitars. The sound is tinny and small, but that is to be expected from anything with such a tiny body. It fits the bill for something totally portable. As other reviewers have said, it doesn't sit on your leg easily. That's because the neck is heavier than the body - not because it is a heavy neck (it isn't) but because the body is so light and has a smooth, almost tear-drop shape. But you just put the strap (included) on it and it stays up just fine. One reviewer on another site (zzsounds) said it smelled like "an acre of used cat litter in a chemical dump." I would not describe the smell that way, but it is clearly a disgreeable odor. Luckily, it is not a very strong odor. You have to be playing the guitar to smell it. It won't fill the room with the awful odor. After 5 days it has dissipated a little bit (or maybe I'm getting used to it) - maybe it's down 30% lower than when it arrived. Still objectionable, it is probably the smell of the lacquer they used. Not a sweet 'solvent' laquer smell - it's more of a roachy and burnt or rotting carcas-like smell. I hope it dissipates more over the next month - I'd hate to have to return this beauty. Hey Washburn - is there any other lacquer you can use? Will this nasty smell dissipate eventually? Is there anything I can do to accelerate the dissipation or outgassing and get this guitar to smell less? If you don't care about smells like this, and you want a travel guitar, this is the way to go. If you are sensitive to odors, you'd better try it out first to see if the odor is acceptable to you or not.

Takamine sound and quality for a low budget. The first thing I can say is that the guitar is absolutely beautiful. It's well made, sounds amazing, stays in tune well. Basically, you are getting good Takamine quality for the price of a Harmony... and it will last longer. Definitely not your typical "bargain guitar". My only complaint is that there is that there is only one knob for a neck strap. It's easy enough to fix with a little effort (Or you can just tie the strap to the neck (under the strings of course), but it would really be nice to have that second knob :) Don't let that turn you away from the Jasmine, though. You wont get a better guitar for the price!!
Very Satisfied Although like many of my generation, I had wanted to learn to play guitar as a teenager, but I never realized that dream. Now as an 54 year old, I'm going to give it a try. So this review will be from the point of view of an inexperinced novice. I was looking for a cheap, um....... inexpensive guitar to learn on, after searching different places for reviews for something that would meet my requirments. I settle upon the Takamine S34C, because of the opinons of many experinced musicans, who said they were impress by the sound and tone of this inexpensive instrument. Now for my humble review, it seems to have good quailty construction and a nice satin finish. It tunes easily and holds its tune. Intonation seems good. When I'm ready to replace the strings, I'm thinking maybe D'Addario EXP 16 and maybe have the action lowered. All in all, I'm very happy this guitar and think this not only makes a very good beginner's guitar, but one that might give good use for many years to come. I ranked it 5-stars for my satisfaction.I don't have any experince to rank it to other $100 guitars, does it garner 5-stars aginst them? I don't know, maybe.
Pleased...At Last This is my second Tak, and I am pleased to find that, despite the low price, it has that same Takamine quality to it. I have found none of the problems noted in other comments: I like the pick guard, which is clearly depicted in the catalog photo; the action does not seem all that high for an inexpensive guitar; the strings were in good shape; there were no noticeable finish problems. I bought it for knocking around -- beach, pool parties, etc -- not for serious performance work. This would have been a decent buy at $200 (I paid about $200 for my first guitar in 1977!); at $100 it is a very good bargain. The only criticism I have is that it arrived more than 10 days past the estimated delivery date. That's OK. A guitar this good and inexpensive is worth the wait.

I'm very pleased I bought this guitar from Amazon several months ago and I've been very pleased. I've always been told that it is best to learn to play on an acoustic guitar, and after having an electric guitar sit neglected in the corner of my room, I decided I needed to get serious about my playing. I came here because I was looking for a deal, but I was wary when I saw the price of this guitar. However after reading all the reviews, I purchased it and have never looked back. This guitar is amazing. I play it every day -- it's such a great beginner guitar, needless to say much better a beginner guitar than a Strat. It stays in tune, all the notes are so profoundly audible, the woodwork and strings are of great quality; I'd recommend this guitar to anyone, experienced or not. This guitar has really inspired me to get busy playing, just because it's so worth the money. Best $100 I've ever spent.
My daughter is happy I bought this as a gift for my daughter who just learned to play guitar, but she has been playing violin for the past 19 years since she was five. She liked it so far, but I am sure her expectation was partly based no the price paid. The guitar sounded pretty good to me who has not played any instrument.
My husband loves it! I bought this as a christmas gift for my husband. He loves it! It's a great beginner guitar.

Not as bad as some may say I dig the tone, the shape, I find myself able to play faster than before (good action) Only thing that put me off is how the fretboard and headstock are heavier than the body itself, sometimes making it awkward to hold. It's something small in the overall experience however. I highly recommend the guitar to anyone learning, heck, even those who have been playing for a while!

If you dont buy it, well then theres somethin wrong with you. . . I am 15 years old and in a metal band. When i got this guitar, it was the missing link in creating heavy music. The sound so heavy and dark, and the quality is at it's perfection. The price is one to die for and with a good amp you can rock out.
