Some say that the word “guitar” came from the word “qitara”. Qitara is an Arabic name for the different kinds of lutes during the early times.
Evolution
The guitar, as we know it, is said to originate in Spain. It is believed that the people of Malaga invented the instrument. The guitar evolved from having three pairs of strings to four pairs of strings and eventually six single strings.
The guitar began to become popular in the 16th century. It was played by the lower and middle classes as a counterpart for the vihuela which was played by the aristocrats. The vihuela was tuned like a lute but had a body similar to that of the guitar.
The guitar made a serious evolution during the 18th century: the double strings where replaced by single strings and a sixth string was added. In the 1800s, Antonio Torres de Jurado gave birth to the classical guitar. Basically, he increased the size of the body of the guitar.
The guitar still struggled because it was considered as an instrument for the taverns - an instrument which could not be used for classical music. In Spain, where people hated the piano, the guitar found refuge. However, it was also tainted by the views that guitars were for gypsies and for no-good bums who asked for loose change in bars.
Electric Guitar
The modern electric guitar was invented in 1931. The electric guitar uses electronic “pick-ups” to enable it to produce sound. The pick-ups convert the vibrations from the strings into electric signals. The body of the electric guitar is semi-solid or solid, depending on the design. The structure of the guitar took a great leap when the electric guitar was born, no longer did its sound depend on the structure and construction of the body, but on the quality of the pick-ups and soundboard.

On ebay u can get a great beginner guitar for 30 bucks, pick, metal strings, gig bag, strap, etc. way better deal. Search fretshop on ebay. that is the seller and they r amazing.

Has a nice feel to it and nice sound; recommended This contents of this review are based on that fact that this keyboard costs under $200. Just knowing that it costs under $200 should tell you right off the bat this is not for a professional musician, nor will it have professional quality and tone. However, if you are like me and just beginning or even perhaps an intermediate musician looking for a practice keyboard, this is probably the keyboard you want to buy. I tried out many many keyboard in the $200 price range and this is the ONLY one I would buy. If it were not for this keyboard, I would have spent over $500 on a Yamaha. What I like about this is the keyboard has a semi-weighted feel to the keys and the piano tones are very lush and nice. The organ tones as well are awesome. After using it for a few months the keys are starting to 'crackle' a little and realistically this keyboard could probably only stand about 3-4 years of use before it breaks down. I have no regrets at all about purchasing this. If I continue to play and enjoy playing, I will probably go out and buy a $700 range professional digital piano or keyboard down the road and sell this one or give it away. Also, you do need to purchase an a/c power supply (so add another $20) and probably a simple stand ($25). So make sure you factor in another $45 for accessories. If you are the type of person who likes to buy once and have a product for life, this may not be what you are looking for. I would recommend a higher quality instrument. If you just want to start playing right away and don't have a big budget, this is the ONE keyboard to get. Quite frankly, almost any keyboard under $200 is a piece of junk!
GREAT DEAL For the money, this keyboard can't be beat! I had wanted to purchase an 88 key digital piano but the prices were a bit too steep for me at this time, so I took a chance on this low-cost Casio keyboard. I was pleasantly surprised! It has good sound, decent touch (not exactly like a piano but much better than models without touch sensitivity!!), and is lightweight. Make sure you get the adaptor and stand (and a sustain pedal too!). You will need them. For the price---it's a great deal!
ideal to learn on My last keyboard didn't really sound much like a piano, nor did it have enough keys (61). This really fits the bill and holds my attention. Really interested in getting back into playing and as I grew up with a piano I wanted something pretty similar. This is gorgeous sounding (esp. with headphones), a nice feel and an amazing list of fantastic sounds to boot. The 76 keys handles nearly any piano music and this baby performs nicely for the price. Yeah, it does not exactly feel like a piano but you aren't gonna toss a piano on your lap either. No buyers remorse here but a few caveats. You have to buy this with the power supply and pedal to really use it properly (assuming you have the stand and chair). Those extras don't come standard and you will need them. The pedal I used to use with my Yamaha works in reverse for this unit and other 9v power supplies don't have the guts to power it so beware...get the recommended accessories.
